We started Lionstar to move roofing from opinion to measurement.
Ask three roofing contractors about the same roof and you’ll get three different answers — not because anyone’s wrong, but because opinion is all the industry ever had to work with. We believed building owners deserved a shared set of facts. So we built a progressive, data-driven roofing company — thermal imaging, verified moisture maps, and capital plans you can check for yourself.

Every recommendation we make comes with the data attached — thermal imagery, moisture readings, core photos. If we can’t show you why, we don’t say it.
The truth, even when it’s cheap
Sometimes the scan says your roof is fine, or that a $4,000 repair does what a $400,000 replacement was quoted for. We tell you that. It costs us revenue occasionally; it builds the only asset that matters over a decade in this business — being believed.

Everyone talks about raising standards. We built a company on them.
Twenty-six years of building and running service companies across Minnesota and the states around it teaches you something the brochures never say: standards aren’t slogans — they’re habits. They’re what happens on an ordinary Tuesday, on a roof nobody’s photographing, when the easy shortcut is available and nobody would know.
The other half is the team itself. We hire people who genuinely care about the work — the kind who re-check a weld nobody asked them to, who notice the loading dock schedule before it becomes your problem, who treat your building like it has their name on it. And we hire people who understand the client: that a roof is never just a roof — it’s your tenants, your operations, your budget meeting next quarter. Born and raised in Minnesota.
Lionstar was founded right here in Minnesota by local guys who actually live in the communities we serve. We grew up shoveling driveways before the sun came up in January, playing hockey on the frozen ponds, and spending summers out on the beautiful Minnesota lakes. This is our home — and protecting the buildings our communities work under is what drives us every day.
We started this company because we saw too many building owners getting taken advantage of by out-of-state storm chasers and contractors who disappear after the check clears. We wanted to build something different: a roofing company that is actually here — one that picks up the phone when you call, and stands behind every project long after the work is done.
Our team brings decades of combined experience across commercial roofing systems and exterior restoration. We are fully licensed and insured, and we treat every building like it belongs to someone in our own family.
Our team runs deep — estimators, superintendents, drone pilots, and factory-certified crews across Minnesota and Texas, people who take real pride in the work and understand what your building means to you. You’ll meet them on your roof.

When something goes wrong, watch what we do next.
Do unexpected things happen on projects? Of course they do — on ours and on everyone else’s.
Weather turns overnight. A supplier shorts a load. A detail that looked right fails a water test. Any contractor who tells you nothing ever goes sideways is telling you something about their honesty, not their projects. We won’t pretend otherwise — you’ve managed buildings long enough to know better.
What we promise is what happens next:

Lionstar operates from Eagan, Minnesota and Frisco, Texas — Midwest freeze-thaw expertise and Texas hail-and-heat expertise under one methodology. Our focus today is Minnesota and Texas, and for owners with buildings beyond those states, we’re glad to talk through what we can take on.
