Assessment first, hardware second.

We start with a rooftop hazard assessment: where does anyone actually need to go, how often, and what’s within 15 feet of an edge? The plan protects real work paths rather than blanketing the roof in rail you don’t need — which keeps both the cost and the roof loading sensible.

Every installation is documented for your safety file: locations, load ratings, and inspection schedule.

What owners and facility teams ask about rooftop compliance.

Does OSHA really apply to my maintenance staff going up to check an HVAC unit?

Yes. The 2017 update to OSHA 1910 Subpart D explicitly covers routine rooftop work. Work within 6 feet of an edge requires conventional fall protection; 6 to 15 feet requires protection or a designated area depending on frequency. If people go on your roof, the rule applies to you.

Will guardrail penetrate my roof membrane?

Not necessarily — counterweighted, non-penetrating systems cover most perimeter and skylight applications with zero membrane penetrations. Where engineered anchors are required, we flash every penetration to manufacturer spec and document it.

Can you add safety systems during a roof replacement?

That’s the ideal time — details get integrated into the new system, warranties stay clean, and mobilization is shared. We include a safety assessment in every replacement scope by default.
