If your membrane is aging but your insulation is dry, you may not need a new roof — you may need a restored one. Fluid-applied restoration systems renew the waterproofing surface at typically one-third to one-half the cost of replacement, with warranties of 10 to 20 years.

Restoration is a qualification, not a product.
Here’s the part of the coatings pitch most contractors skip.
Coatings waterproof the surface, and only the surface. Applied over wet insulation, a coating seals moisture inside the assembly, where it keeps corroding the deck and destroying R-value — invisibly, under a fresh white surface.
That’s why every Lionstar restoration project begins with a moisture survey. Wet areas are cut out and replaced first; the coating goes over a verified-dry roof or it doesn’t go on at all.

The ponding workhorse
The workhorse for ponding-prone low-slope roofs: unmatched standing-water resistance and UV stability. The usual choice over TPO, EPDM, and mod-bit in both our climates.
Reflective & economical
Economical and highly reflective with excellent dirt pickup resistance, best on roofs with positive drainage. A strong fit for metal roof restoration.
Matched to the exposure
Polyurethane base coats for hail-prone Texas roofs needing impact resistance, aluminized coatings for asphaltic surfaces, and reinforced (fabric-embedded) systems that approach new-membrane performance over marginal substrates.

What owners ask before choosing restoration over replacement.
How do I know if my roof qualifies for restoration?
Three tests: the insulation must be verifiably dry (moisture survey), the membrane must be sound enough to serve as a substrate (adhesion and condition testing), and the details must be repairable. Roughly speaking, roofs in the middle of their life curve qualify; roofs at the very end often don’t. The survey settles it.
How long does a coating system last?
Warranted terms run 10–20 years depending on system and applied thickness. Many silicone systems can then be cleaned and recoated for a further term at a fraction of the original cost — which is how well-managed roofs avoid tear-offs for decades.
Is a coated roof as good as a new roof?
Over a qualified, dry substrate — functionally, for waterproofing purposes, yes, for the warranted term. What it doesn’t do is renew insulation or correct structural issues, which is exactly why qualification testing comes first.
Can you coat over ponding water areas?
Silicone systems tolerate ponding better than any other chemistry and are warranted for it. That said, chronic ponding usually signals a drainage problem worth fixing at the same time — we address the cause, not just the symptom.
